Crofton Guidance Department

Welcome to Crofton Elementary!!

My name is Ashley Gates and I am the Guidance Counselor at Crofton Elementary. I am in my 27th year in the education field. I obtained my Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and my master's degree and Rank 1 in Guidance and Counseling from Murray State University. I am married to Alan Gates and have a daughter, Marley Joiner, that is a Jr. at Murray State and a son, Latham Joiner, a sophomore at Hopkinsville High School.

I taught for eight years at Indian Hills Elementary then I began my guidance and counseling career at Trigg County Elementary for one year. I then became the Guidance Counselor at Millbrooke Elementary, where I worked for 13 years. I have been at Crofton Elementary as Guidance Counselor for five years and I am very proud to be a Cougar!

I enjoy working with students and parents, removing barriers and assisting students in personal and social growth.
